Latest Unemployment figures

I'm still trying to figure out why no one has mentioned the correlation between the color of the states with the lowest average unemployment rates and those of the highest.  Some time back I heard a blurb on Fox I think about the "Right to Work" states having the lowest unemployment rates but then it just disappeared as a topic.  It's still true, while my home state of Oregon creeps up towards No. 1 with 10.8 as of March 2009, it only following the biggest Union State of them all Michigan 12.0, and just above Ca.10.5, a "Just plain crazy state".

I believe that it implies something important about those states.  It seems that they have a better infrastructure, and better overall business model.  I believe that entitlements are the main culprit.  That's pretty obvious in California where they are spending their way to bankruptcy only to be bailed out by the Feds.  But, that money will be gone in a matter of months the way they spend.

Where is the common sense that led this country to greatness?  I repeat my request for a Conservative Union dedicated to advancing the cause of better business.  Dues paying members with only one cause to protect Conservatives and advance the cause.  More of a political Union but not a PAC.  Card carrying, dues paying, representative government, power brokers for common sense.

New Union

We need a new union!

One that serves the conservative view.

One with millions of members.

We need to counter the left and their labor friends.

We need to have a unified structure of believers who are willing to contribute.

We need power.

Who will help me create that union?

Things are really Falling Apart

I've been watching for a while now and not liking what I am seeing.  I warned of this back during the election and now I have to comment, but it is not an "I told you so", it is a vision of what I'm afraid of.
I keep having these terrible day-dreams of someone/some people breaking down my door with me standing inside my house holding a loaded weapon trying to protect my family at all costs.  That's not the frightening part though. What scares me is the fact that I realize that I don't know if they are good guys or bad guys.  I guess it would make sense that if they are breaking into my home they are bad guys but in the context of my dream the whole world has gone crazy and I have been caught up in a fight between factions that I cannot recognize.
I know where I stand on the issues, and that I am willing to fight for them, but yet I have no idea what my neighbors believe.  Have they been blinded by the main stream media and see the world through the eyes of the "so called" victims of the world?  I've noticed that about half of my neighbors don't work and must be getting some sort of payment from the government and the other half can't speak english.
Who would be my allies?  Which of my neighbors care about the direction of this country?  Do they agree with the way things are going or not.
We seem so fragmented that there are not definable lines of demarcation any longer and that scares me.
But, maybe I'm just denying the truth and there are true lines that I just do not want to admit.  Am I now part of the minority?  Are there any friends left on my street?  Have I moved or have they?  If your getting government money you probably do not want to upset the apple cart.  If you are here illegally you want to stay in the shadows.  My only friends will be those who are working the daily grind, who pay taxes, who make just enough to get through the week.  Those who like to hunt and fish, take their quads to the beach and get together for neighborhood get togethers might still be the people I can trust.

Race, Religion, voting preference should not have anything to do with the protection of our freedoms but somehow today it seems that they do in many cases and that scares me.
How can I distinguish those who would do my family harm?  If I can't then you better not be knocking down my door.  I would hope that you call first.

I know and can identify some of my friends though.  Those who I talk to about the world and what it's like.  Those who will open up and tell me how they feel.  We can band together if we communicate.  Being silent is no longer an option.  It may prove to be a matter of life and death.  Talk to those around you and find out what they believe in.  Don't be judgemental and mean just ask so you'll know who your friends are.  It is important, believe me that it just may save your bacon some day.

Finally Something positive to talk about

Wow!  Am I excited about this VP pick...  I love this woman, there is nothing better in this world than a smart, conservative woman.  I guess that was kind of redundant.  Just being a conservative woman makes her smart.  A lifetime NRA member, Pro-Life, Five kids, one with Downs Syndrome, smart, great-looking, did I say smart, conservative woman.  I'm in heaven.

I feel amazingly different all of a sudden, oh no, don't want to start some conservative version of the messiah... Jesus, Mother, Mary and Joseph.  I did not say that.

It would just be SOOOOOO cool if the Republicans put the first woman in the White House wouldn't it?  I mean, talk about ironic justice.  I am almost tempted to pull a Democratic trick and vote twice.  Demand a recount even when we win.

I can't wait to watch Joe Biden try his Mean and Nasty face on for her.  I believe she has the perfect temperament for that.  If this has done nothing else it has restored my excitement and that is a lot.

I have HOPE, today is the day "I" have been waiting for.  I will contribute, contribute and contribute again and again to see this come to life...

Thanks John

Since I've said in my previous post that immigration is a killer for me I feel that I should explain my experience on the matter...

In 1973 after being released from the Army in Washington I moved to California and started working for a very good company that did a lot of defense work.  I worked in the tool crib and eventually finished an apprenticeship in the machine shop as a Journeyman Machinist, all the while taking college classes at "Valley" College in Van Nuys.
My best friend at the time Oscar, was from Columbia and also worked in his field of Chemical treatment of metals.  It was one of the best times of my life and I loved Oscar dearly and respected him and his heritage.
To this day I can;t tell you why the topic came up but we were talking about illegal immigration and it;s affect of jobs.  I know it;s hard to believe but this was in the early 70's.  His stance was that they did jobs that americans won't do and mine was that they start there but move up like everyone else does.  So, they eventually take jobs that americans want, and/or they drive down the wages of those jobs because employers hire them for less and they take the jobs because it's a lot more than they can make anywhere else.
I knew I was right then because it just makes sense although I did not have any real evidence for my assertion.
So, to the point, I did what most machinists do and moved around from job to job to gain all the experience I could to become as well rounded as I could.  I worked for Boeing in Seattle, for the Department of the Airforce as a civilian and many more jobs doing all kinds of work.  When I left California in the early 80's to work for Boeing an experienced machinist (almost 99.9% american), in the valley anyway, was making about $20.00 an hour.
Almost five years later in the mid 80's when I returned to Southern California I found that most of the shops were now about 33% mexican and that the wages were about $18.00 an hour.  I could still find work mainly because of my experience but for less money and the conditions in the workplace were worse.  There were still the $20.00 an hour jobs but they were fewer and farther between and they should have been $23 to $25 dollar an hour jobs...
Do we all remember what happened in the mid 80's in regards to immigration?
Have we forgotten the past and are we doomed to give up the rest of our skilled labor and higher jobs to advancing illegal's that have now become a large minority and many of them now legal.  I would bet that the number of jobs lost by americans to immigration is greater than those that have moved overseas...
About the only thing that bothers me more are all those "Americans" especially retired americans that are driving Japanese cars.  Especially retired government or state workers.  My tax dollars are paying their Toyota payments.

Anyway I'm still watching

What's the big wupdido?

What has anyone said that makes anyone out there believe that any of the candidates, especially the frontrunners, have any substance to their platform?  I have not heard anything concrete, nothing that tells me who "I" should vote for.  Healthcare this, Security that, and a few sobs thrown in for good theater.  What am I voting for?
It really blows me away that a good percentage of "Young White Female Voters" in New Hemps and Ohio have decided to pick for the next president of the United States a young orator that speaks well.  Oh my God I hope they don't turn out in droves at the general election in November we'll be looking at Obama talking eloquently and forcefully about looking for Osama, all the while pulling our military out of the region so Osama can go back to club bin laden.
Here is my rundown on the candidates:
An Orator (talks a good game).
An Arkansausal type A Lawyer (slept with the President).
A Personal Injury Attorney (what more needs to be said).
A Preacher (what more needs to be said).
A Mormon (Has lots of money).
A Prisoner of War (was released more than 30 years ago).
An Italian Mayor (just happened to be there).
An Abductee (Hangs out with Shirley).
A Joke (lives on the fringe).
The Actor (WIll he wake up in time for the war)?

NOW OF THESE WHO DO I HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR:

At least the Mormon is spending a lot of his own money to run for an office that will pay less in a year than he could earn in six months easy.   He has some real proven managerial skills and actually did a good job as Governor of Old Mass.

The Prisoner of War is actually an american hero and a good Senator that tries to cross party lines to actually accomplish change in Washington but his stance on Immigration is a killer for me.

The Italian Mayor did do a great job cleaning up New York and was a tough Prosecutor but how hard could that be post mafia days anyway.

The Orator is still an enigma for me.  I have no idea where he really stands on anything.  What his record really is.  How he "REALLY" feels about "RACE" in america.  If he's elected am I going to have to pay a reparations tax?   Will him and his guilt ridden white liberal friends cram a zillion new laws down my throat that will make it toughter for my kids to get a job when they grow up?  But, I did mention that he is an enigma, he may still come through for me.

All in all I hope that whoever gets into the office they don't leave those poor Iraqi's and Afghanistani's to sort out their destiny by them selves too soon...

Here's hoping and Watching...
